Why it matters
Designing a product is one skill. Getting paid for it, delivering it reliably and being found online are others. Falling Feather is where I practise all of them with my own money on the line.
The lessons feed straight into client work: what makes a checkout trustworthy, how delivery fails in practice, and what it takes to keep a catalogue, content and community moving at the same time.
What I built
Brand and storefront
A distinct identity and a storefront where every product is easy to scan by type, level range, tone and price.
Local payments, global buyers
PayFast checkout in rand, with prices shown in pounds or dollars for visitors from those regions.
Secure delivery
Payment notifications trigger time-limited download links, so buyers get their files instantly and links can’t be shared indefinitely.
Found by search and AI
Supplements have their own pages, the site carries structured data, and it publishes an llms.txt summary for AI assistants.
Community and recurring revenue
A Patreon tier gives supporters access to every release, alongside the one-off store.
A catalogue that scales
The catalogue is now being restructured into larger collections, so the store stays easy to browse as new releases arrive.
